Adventures in Philosophy: Etienne Gilson

Etienne Gilson (1884-1978) is noted especially for his works on medieval philosophy which are praised for their sweep of vision and judgment. He is both a historian and a philosopher. As a philosopher he is convinced of the perennial value of Scholastic philosophy, which culminated in the Summa Theologica of St. Thomas Aquinas.
