Adventures in Philosophy: Blaise Pascal

Blaise Pascal (1623-1662) was a French philosopher, mathematician, and scientist. He conducted scientific researches including experiments on atmospheric pressure and invented an ingenious calculating machine. He turned from preoccupation with the scientific to the study of man and his spiritual problems and found faith as a sounder guide than reason. At this stage of his thought, theology becomes central.
