On June 13th we discussed poems by Kipling,
"Recessional" and "The Dikes" about the collapse of
the world of the fathers and their works. On June
20th Dr. Narrett will discuss Robert Frost's great
short poem, "the Draft Horse." Throughout we will
learn how the greatest poems of the past two
centuries reveal the increasing spiritual hunger,
confusion and seeking that characterize
Romanticism, Modernism and post-Modernism and
consider how they relate to the intensifying war on
the Jews.
Poems discussed to date include "Design" by
Frost, "Dover Beach" by Matthew Arnold, "On the
Medusa of Leonardo Da Vinci" by Percy Shelley, and
Blake's "the Garden of Love."
Join us at 9pm EDT Wednesdays to gain
understanding of our days as it is revealed in
great poetry.
