American
Border -- A Mirage
by Deloris Finch
U.S. Borders: Everybody Welcome -- Terrorists,
Narc Runners, Insurgents, Immigrants, Criminals,
Come one, Come all! 20 million illegals have heeded
the call.
The Bush administration and their subservient
lackeys in Congress have conspired against
Americans by repeatedly refusing to appropriate
sufficient money to fortify the borders thus
encouraging and facilitating illegals to defy, and
with impunity violate American Law. As a
consequence, millions of illegal Hispanics are
flooding the U.S. availing themselves of social
services denied needy Americans as well as
depriving workers of jobs -- well paying jobs
causing hardship to American families. Illegals
willingness to work for a fraction of what supports
a decent American standard of living is the reason
our borders have been abandoned by the Bush
administration.
There is something detestable about the
administration favoring Corporate profits over
middle class living wages -- once the hallmark of
family security. Corporations have forced labor
migration throughout the world by subjecting humans
to a state of poverty and abject living conditions
whereby indentured laborers strike out for greener
pastures and a more rewarding life. Corporate
despotism under the auspices of governmental
paternalism has been instrumental in subjugating
and exploiting the world's population. Illegals
will accept anything as wages and are petrified to
voice their mistreatment to authorities when their
rights are violated. A legal worker in Argentina
spends 16 hours a day sewing slacks for chic stores
for $65.00 a week, slave labor, but a crutch
against starvation. That though, is the ultimate
objective of corporations, to enslave labor to
maximize their profits. People in their estimation
no longer represent human beings but rather
expendable units.
The hoards of illegals, 20 million strong,
presently dispersed throughout our nation have
displaced a proportionate number of American
workers from their jobs. Companies knowingly
employing illegals display a contempt for the
consumers who have created their wealth, and should
be boycotted. Retaliation might be just
punishment.
And speaking of retribution, if our political
leadership is inclined to spurn their constituents
concerns they should be shown no mercy and banished
from office.
There is absolutely no reciprocity between
Mexico and the U.S.A. in the sense that we can
freely cross their borders, buy and own a home
there, receive welfare or food stamps or medical
care or become a citizen. Extending the same
privileges accorded their own people in our country
is forbidden for Americans in Mexico. Mexican
requirements toward residency are quite extensive
and restrictive if one decides to settle there: To
qualify for residence it is essential that you
speak their native language, your resume must
indicate being a professional or investor. They
will not accept unskilled workers. Foreigners do
not have the right to vote or hold political office
despite their length of residency. They ban
Americans from purchasing ocean front property and
with all other property individual ownership rights
must be relinquished if the government so
dictates.
Foreigners have no right to protest, demonstrate
or wave a foreign flag, organize politically,
insult the president, or criticize his policies all
of which will get you evicted from the country.
You're a foreigner you "Shut your mouth or get
out." If you enter Mexico illegally and are caught
it's a one-way, three year ticket to jail. All of
these dictatorial laws are presently operative in
Mexico.
Considering their rigid, austere rules compared
to ours Americans should march on Congress and
White House en force enraged at allowing the
Mexican government, with the tacit consent of the
Bush administration, to dump millions of poverty
stricken human derelicts into the U.S.. If
Americans don't get tough with Congress we will
soon be submerged by Mexicans, losing our identity
as Americans.
It's evident that Mexico is anti-immigration.
Their government has erected admission barriers
that are virtually unbreachable. Yet they insist
the U.S. is being arbitrary and anti-Mexican in
it's determination to seal their borders and deny
amnesty to 20 million illegals to whom the Mexican
government gave their blessings to for violating
our border laws.
If their current laws also applied to our
country 20 million illegals would soon be shunted
back to Mexico post haste. Both congress and
president should be sacked for allowing our nation
to be overrun with Hispanics.
This massive surge of illegals are now brazenly
clamoring for guest worker programs and amnesty as
being their given rights. Guest workers are also
permitted to have their entire family accompany
them into the U.S.A.. If a child is conceived by a
guest worker's wife, it automatically becomes a
U.S. citizen. A large segment of naturalized
Hispanics are augmenting illegals by hoisting the
Mexican flag, and joining in their demonstrations
in defiance of those that oppose their demands for
amnesty.
Saturation and domination by a single ethnic
faction bodes ill insofar as maintaining a balance
in the diversity of our racial mixture. Serious
confrontations can evolve in the future if the
economy falters and racial enclaves become
antagonistic vying for territorial conquest;
Stark evidence of ethnic polarity exists flaring
in various parts of the world. One need look no
further than France's clashes with a burgeoning
Muslim population. Also, a sporadic state of strife
exists in African nations where diverse tribes
annihilate each other.
There are though nations that display a rational
approach pertaining to immigration. They are well
aware that indiscriminate acceptance of humans from
all walks of life presents a volatile mix that
unforeseen circumstances could ignite into a
monumental problem and ultimately Civil War.
Australia has come to grips with this visceral
issue taking a stern attitude towards
émigrés seeking refuge or asylum in
their country. Their policy is one that should be
adopted by the U.S.A.. Buut that possibility is
highly unlikely considering the warped brain trust
we are encumbered with in our capital.
Their immigration formula can be applied to
Hispanics in America. Australia has a significant
Muslim population who insist on living under their
mother country's Islamic Sharia Law. The Australian
government's reply to them is: Pack up and move
out. They are labeled as radical provocateurs.
Prime Minister John Howard's response to the
Muslim clerics' vocal opposition to the laws of the
land would be perceived as an ultimatum that any
indication of hostility or incitement would result
in their expulsion from Australia. Muslims were
told that they would have to accept Australia as a
secular state whose laws were conceived by
Parliament. If instead they could not abide by that
edict and were determined to pay homage to the
mantra of Sharia Law -- or a theocratic concept --
then they were in the wrong country.
No two nations laws of rule such as Australia's
Parliament or the U.S. Constitution can co-exist in
harmony together. Consider the diversity of
customs, laws and religions prevalent throughout
the world. Each nation is unique unto itself and
must vigilantly preserve it's integrity against
those that profess radical change.
Yet our great nation is ensnared in the
merciless talons of the Religious Right. Talons
capable of exerting enormous leverage on government
policy, slowly extinguishing Constitutional
safeguards by injecting Theocracy as the rule of
law.
It's a battle that's reaching epoch proportions,
which will culminate in the November elections. We
cannot as a free nation retain our freedom under
the lash of the religious right. Our government was
predicated on 3 diverse branches of the
Constitution. Three branches, united yet separate,
dominated by opposing political parties that
counter- balance each other. That principal,
embodied the Founding Fathers' Constitutional
concept of a Democracy, which constitutes the
blocks and balances that form the foundation of our
freedom. That historic determination of creating an
unalterable separation between church and state has
been breached, leaving America vulnerable to the
predications of a religious faction surreptitiously
assuming governmental power and authority through
the auspice of the President and his following in
Congress.
Such is America's dilemma besieged, internally
by religious zealots and Corporate Carnivores, both
of whose ambitions reside in debauching our
democratic process of government.
Coupled with that lethal threat democracy's
adversaries have endorsed open Southern Borders
with the forethought that it would be an open
invitation for the Hispanics to exploit our country
to the degree that all Americans, middle class or
otherwise, will eventually be forced to submit to
similar degradation in the workforce as the
illegals are subjected to.
The forthcoming election for Congress will
determine whether the dyke of Democracy is swept
away as so much flotsam and America falters, or if
America regains its stature and prestige as a free
and resilient nation.
Each of us play an integral role in our nations
perpetuation as a Democracy.
The Republican Religious Right's chokehold on
all 3 branches of government can, and must, be
broken. Cutting that Gordian Knot, in the final
analysis, will be entirely dependent on whether the
Nov. 7th election is conducted in good faith. The
election blueprints of 2000 was warped considering
that the U.S. Supreme Court chose the president, by
so doing, defying the nation's constitutional
rights for the electorate to elect their
president.. In the 2004 election there were
unprecedented voter disqualifications,
disenfranchisements- voting machine malfunctions.
In Democratic districts confusion abounded --
insufficient voting machines, erroneous postings of
voting centers, phone outrages, requests for
identification from registered voters. Partisan
Secretaries of State and their staff have also been
instrumental in indiscriminately voiding legitimate
democratic ballots, and the list goes on. One
aspect of the national disgrace was consistent in
its repetition, wherein the millions of purloined
votes that were discarded and trashed were
Democratic. Unless honesty is reinstated in
representative government whereby the American
people are no longer deprived of having their vote
honestly counted, we, the people will no longer
represent the government. And it follows that the
constitution will no longer be relevant as an
advocate of people's rights. Our vote sends
Representatives to Congress. If elections are
rigged, the dominant party perpetuates and
continues to represent itself. End of the voting
process!
One last word on Electronic Touch Screen Voting
Machines. By virtue of association, practically all
major brand voting vendors are unreliable. These
prime manufacturers virtually produce all voting
equipment, ballots and provisional ballots used in
the primary and general elections. The CEOs are
important Republican Party Insiders, Contributors,
Campaign Chairman and unswerving party loyalists.
One would get the impression from that degree of
party fidelity that a conflict of interest could
cloud their impartiality. That perception is not
unwarranted since the exit poles (very reliable)
were worlds apart from the voting machine's count
in both the 2000 and 2004 election.
The disparity is far from reassuring and ample
cause for a drastic revision in voting procedure.
Unless that occurs, the vote will become obsolete,
having no significance whatsoever. Today
infractions of voting laws are not prosecuted. If
they were much of the skullduggery that has
pervaded the system would be avoided.
Finally, it is imperative that our government
restore immigration quotas, initially starting with
a freeze on all immigrants whether on Visa or
Student Exchange or Special Congressional Visas for
Hi Tech Workers. There has to date been a
stupendous surge of Hispanics into the U.S.
estimated at 10-20% of Mexico's population -- that
doesn't include the 20 million illegals already
hunkered down across the country -- plus the
millions still slipping across the border each
year. In 1986 3 million illegals in the U.S.A. were
given amnesty.
It's time to secure the floodgates and inform
Mexico's president, Vincente Fox, that we will no
longer tolerate any further border violations and
enforce that warning by throwing all border
violators in jail, instead of recycling them back
to Mexico as is presently done (which is futile,
since they are immediately dispatched back for a
second, third and forth try if necessary, to cross
the border.) It's best to use Mexico's stringent
tactics and incarcerate them, then ship them back
after a dose of prison.
If we don't stop this torrent of Mexico's
discards, it will be America's undoing!
It becomes self-evident that border
fortification embracing its extremity be adequately
manned and the rebirth of immigration quotas which
mandates a freeze on all nations' immigrants
whether on Visa or Student Exchange or Worker
Programs, (wherein Congress permits hundreds of
thousand high tech professionals to access our
country on extended Visas to replace American
technicians), be severely restricted.
In conjunction with securing our border and
limiting unbridled population explosion, it also
behooves our lawmakers to proclaim that our nation
was founded on One Flag (The Stars and Stripes), on
One Language (The English Language) and that those
immigrants who won't adapt to our customs will be
deported back to their place of origin.
Are we going to permit either legal or illegal
Hispanics to superimpose their culture over ours
and despoil our traditions and values that our
ancestors shed their blood for? Is that what the
administration and it's congressional allies are
attempting?
Being a multi-cultural society doesn't imply
that we forfeit our sovereignty or National
Identity as Americans! Our hard-fought nation has
endured 230 years of internal conflict and foreign
aggression. Are we once again to succumb from the
internal strife perpetuated from within?
Let it be emphatically restated: Our language is
English, used worldwide as a universal language.
Those of other lands and languages who wish to use
their native tongue living in a host country are
not needed as citizens in America. And the law of
the land should designate those who reject our
language as undesirable.
Democracy is an all-encompassing expression of
Freedom that radiates like a beacon of light. Under
its munificence each person's intimate beliefs must
be honored without reservation.
America is being polarized by those in positions
of power who are intent on imposing their confirmed
belief or faith on others.
Our Democracy cannot sustain autocratic
directives that run contrary to its fundamental
precepts. The Constitution's First Amendment
sternly forbids religious intolerance and
discrimination. Yet despite our history of
religious compatability, we are rapidly drifting
dangerously towards the shoals of perdition.
Therefore, it behooves all Americans who believe
in America's First that in Our Country, Our Land
and Our Way of Life, all the opportunities and
rights shall be shared by all citizenry except when
shaming our flag, our pledge thereto and all it
symbolizes. If you lack that devotion to America
you still possess one last freedom -- the right to
leave.
In summation, my observation of the massive
turnout of Hispanics, bear mention.
The May Day demonstrations -- which would have
been banned in Mexico, but in the U.S.A., were
exhilaratingly featured, like victorious troops
returning home -- in reality was a foreign entity
flaunting their nation's colors, saying, in effect,
"Gringos, get out! We are now the rightful owners
of this country.
"Since when," say these intruders, "have you
Americans been united and vociferous, as we have
been, taking to the streets in defense of your
rights?
"Your president supports us and favors our
occupancy of your country, regardless of our
illegal entry. He fights for us foreigners, knowing
his corporate benefactors want it that way."
Hell, if the president is on our side what more
can be said? If you are unhappy with his policies,
that's your problem. Wake up America! ! There is a
war going on here at home that makes Iraq look puny
in comparison!! Unless you come to terms with the
fact that the time for passivity is over, one
morning when you awake, your cherished Democracy
will be forever gone.
